Abstract:Homocysteine, involved in the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis, is an independent risk factor of cardio-vascular diseases. Evidence shows that it is related to injury of vascular endothelial cells, increase of inflammatory response and oxidative stress response. This article summarizes the research progress of relationship between homocysteine and atherosclerotic heart disease, and hopes to provide reference for its prevention, early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation.
