Anterior cervical surgery has become a common surgical approach for cervical spine surgery. Although it is considered to be relatively safe and effective, the caused complications still bring great challenges to surgeons and patients. It is of importance to understand the types and treatment methods of these complications. In this review, we described the types, prevention and treatment of the complications.
