Given the rise of elderly population and increased incidence of cerebrovascular disease(CVD), CVD has become a very important medical and social problem. CVD in the elderly is characterized as high incidence, serious symptoms, poor prognosis and easy recurrence. The long-term survivors also have high incidences of cognitive impairment, dementia and depression. It is very important to find out the risk factors for CVD, so as to take effective secondary preventive measures for it.
