Case presentation An 80 years old male was hospitalized on Feb. 9, 2006, because of progressive weakness of limbs. The patient felt weakness of both lower extremities from Feb. 4,2006 with no obvious cause. The symptom was aggravated in the following days, gradually he could not walk and the weakness slowly spread to both upper extremities.
