    Abstract:

Alcoholic liver diseases (ALD), the most common clinical consequences of alcohol abuse, include alcoholic fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. Skeletal muscle loss or sarcopenia is a major complication of alcoholic liver diseases. Decreased muscle mass adversely affects clinical outcomes, including survival, quality of life, development of other complications, and post-transplant outcomes. In this review, we summarized progress made in pathogenesis of and treatment for alcoholic liver diseases with sarcopenia in the view of providing basis for further studies.
