    Abstract:

Infective endocarditis (IE), caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, can damage the heart valve, heart transplant and adjacent large blood vessels, with neoplasm as its pathological characteristics. When a maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patient is complicated with IE, the condition is fatal. The incidence and mortality rates of IE are much higher in the MHD patients than the general population. The paper summarized and shared our experience in treatment of an old MHD patient suffering from IE complication.
