    Abstract:

Many studies suggested that cholesterol level and statins use may be associated with the occurrence and development of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Although there are quite a few studies on the pathological mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease with cholesterol and statins, epidemiologic evidence shows inconsistent results. The confounding may be due to the unadjusted relationship of statins use and cholesterol level in the design of study protocol. In this article, we reviewed previous researches on the relationship of cholesterol and statins with PD.
