C-X-C chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR₂) is a member of chemokine family, and has been much sought after both in preclinical and clinical research because its activation by its ligands plays an important role in the pathophysiology of a range of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, cardiac remodeling, atherosclerosis, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. This review focuses on the progress made in the studies about roles of CXCR₂ in cardiovascular diseases.
