    Abstract:

ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical characteristics of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in the elderly(MODSE). MethodsTotally 200 cases of MODS were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into elderly group (n=94) and control group (n=106). The precipitating factor, the first impaired organ, the incidence rate and mortality rate of MODS were compared between the two groups.ResultsExcept the originally impaired organ, there were differences in the precipitating factor, the first impaired organ, the incidence rate and the mortality rate of MODS. ConclusionThere are some features which may differentiate MODSE from MODS. The prognosis of MODSE is worse.
