Abstract:
      Recently, the morbidity and mortality of coronary heart disease in China have been persistently climbing and coronary heart disease has threatened Chinese people's health and lives increasingly. Coronary artery and carotid artery share a similar atherosclerotic mechanism. Bunches of studies have already confirmed the significance of carotid intima-media thickness and plaque regarding the diagnosis of coronary heart disease and the prediction of future cardiovascular events. Ultrasound is a common non-invasive tool for detecting the condition of carotid artery. It can provide carotid atherosclerosis-related indicators economically and quickly. And with the development of technology in recent years, relevant indicators that can be explored are more comprehensive, and researches on the relationship between these indicators and coronary heart disease also go deeper. This article will review the recent research on carotid atherosclerotic indicators detected by ultrasound, namely intima-media thickness, plaque thickness, plaque length, plaque composition, plaque area and plaque volume, in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease and the risk assessment of cardiovascular disease. treatment.
