During coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) epidemic, Chinese Journal of Multiple Organ Diseases in the Elderly operated scientifically and reasonably, achieved the balance between epidemic-fighting and academic work, and reported COVID-19 epidemic related studies efficiently. First, we raised awareness of the epidemic situation and made overall arrangements for anti-epdemic work and paper-editing work of editorial office. Second, we took initiatives and traced the academic hot point of COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention. Third, we integrated all forces and launched a special issue about COVID-19 related studies. Medical journals should respond proactively to the sudden nation-wide public health affairs like COVID-19 epidemic to demonstrate the academic vitality of the journal.
