Senile pruritus, a common chronic skin disease in the elderly, is a serious disease affecting the health of elderly patients because of its endurable itching and lack of effective treatment. The pathogenesis of senile pruritus is complex, which is mainly due to a series of physiological or pathological changes caused by aging, including the degeneration of the skin and the changes in immune function and endocrine system. Currently, the integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine is ideal for therapy of senile pruritus.
